A day in St. Gallen (Switzerland) with the LCD

Today Nadine and Hussein Ismail of The Learning Center for the Deaf (LCD) in Lebanon visited their support association in Switzerland, the “Freudeskreisder Gehörlosenschule LCD Libanon” (FKLCD) in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Hussein and Nadine explained what they do and the projects that they intend to develop in favour of the deaf people of Lebanon. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the whole day was very interesting and very well organised. Well done!

We at Lebanon Trust visited Nadine and Hussein last November at their school LCD in Baabda, near Beirut, and were impressed by it.

The United Nations agency for refugees and its High Commissioner Filippo Grandi went to FAID, the school for deaf children that we help since 2008. The star of this wonderful video is Mohammad, aged 7 and born at the very beginning of the Syria war. Mohammad is from Syria and he is a refugee; he lost his left hand when his house was shelled in 2014. Now he and his family live in Beirut. He is deaf and atttends FAID, where he is a very good and very diligent student.
